Hans & Julia: Married

Some couples are just PERFECT for each other. I had a hunch that Hans & Julia were an excellent match, but several things that happened on their wedding day just confirmed my suspicions. I’ll start with the confirmations that happened during the first look. Hans and Julia decided to see each other before their ceremony and took that time to give each other gifts. Neither one had ANY idea what the other had prepared. Julia gave Hans a journal of handwritten letters that she had written to him every day since the day he proposed. Hans gave Julia a collection of HIS writings that he’d had printed and bound. Matching gifts! WOW!! I think it goes without saying that these two understand each other.

It was a fantastic wedding!! Here’s a look at their day, starting with the matching meaningful gifts:

And here’s the happy couple. I’m glad they trusted me on this pose. I think they look amazing. (Doesn’t Julia look a little like Snow White? GORGEOUS!)

I just have to say that Julia was THE calmest bride I have EVER worked with. Totally chill. No worries. Maybe it’s because I let her lay on the ground? Nope! I can’t take credit for it. She’s just awesome!

This photo was shot by Stephanie, who was my 2nd shooter for the day. I love that she caught Julia’s giggle.

The shot on the bridge is also by Stephanie. I asked her to run down and get a reflection and she did not disappoint! We found the little blossom outside the door to the church and the rings fit it perfectly. I LOVE Spring blossoms!

Hans shaved his beard between the engagement photos and the wedding. All day long I marveled at his baby face and the dimples that were previously hidden by the beard. Either way, smooth or bearded, he looks great next to Julia!

Julia’s sister Jen, on the right, kept me laughing all day. Both bridesmaids were really fun and helpful.

A friend wrote a song for their wedding, and… it made most people in the room cry. So, I’d say that’s a pretty well written wedding song!

Hans’ best friend couldn’t make it to the ceremony, so he watched via Skype. Then during the reception he surprised the couple by toasting to them. It was pretty darn cool!

Um… grooms cake= AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This piece of ART was done by Amber of Flour Girl.

Congratulations Hans and Julia! Your wedding was a beautiful seal on the love and commitment that you already share. I loved witnessing how freely and sweetly the two of you express love to each other.
