Jeremy & Ashley: Wedding
By Marah Grant on in Weddings with 4 Comments
These high school sweethearts have been looking forward to their wedding for a long time. They’ve patiently waited through college and long distances to finally be united. After four years apart and finally graduating with big fancy degrees, Jeremy and Ashley got married last Friday. Their wedding was a beautiful traditional ceremony with plenty of Ashley’s favorite color: Malibu Blue. They were very committed to getting great photos and Ashley gave me a very liberal photo schedule for the day of her wedding. It was a good thing too, because in this drought it actually decided to rain through a lot of their allotted photo time. Jeremy and Ashley patiently waited out some of the storm and when it was still sprinkling Ashley decided that she wanted outdoor photos badly enough that she still wanted to go out in the spritz to get the shot! I understood then why Ashley was described in the toasts as a strong and determined woman. She’s not afraid to get a little wet or dirty if that’s what it takes. She’s a great match for Jeremy who’s a sweet gentle giant, but that doesn’t mean that he’s weak. The two of them are presumably going to tackle life with just as much gusto as they have athletics, school, and just about every other activity they have done with flourish and success. Take a look at Jeremy and Ashely’s big day!

Ashley’s dad owns a ’59 Corvette that he kindly let them use on their wedding day. These two are both very tall people and (much to my amusement) struggle to fit their lanky legs in the small car. It made for some pretty cool photos though!

I have no idea what the guys were talking about and what lead to this high five… but I like it.

These ladies were great! I had a blast with them. I love that they were all so committed to matching for the wedding day that they all wore the same shade of lipstick. Something the guests probably wouldn’t have noticed, but they had a lot of fun doing nonetheless. It’s the little things…

I’m so thankful for putting green grass in the middle of a drought! It was nice to see some green for a change.

Little Nora was dressed as Ashley’s twin for her aunt’s wedding. It was SOOOOOOOO cute!

I thought it was really sweet that Ashley turned to hug her mom as she was being given away. It’s not often that a mother is included in that moment.

For the prayer at the end of the service to bless the couple everyone in the audience extended their hands toward the couple. It was a truly hallowed moment.

You may remember seeing the Bethel College Volleyball Team at Justin and Emily’s wedding. It was so fun to see the gang reunited for their teammate Ashley. I was especially excited to see them enthusiastically take to the dance floor. They make me want to dust off my overhand serve and relive my favorite 6-2 rotation.

The DJ kept the hits coming and Jeremy and Ashley’s guests danced themselves silly. Ashley’s dancing was especially enthusiastic. It was a magical night. I LOVED this reception! It was so smooth and fun for the guests.

Congratulations Jeremy and Ashley! I’m so glad that your long-distance relationship is over and now you get to spend every day with your best friend! Thanks for allowing me to be part of your day.

Fabulous photos Marah! And it was fun “working” with you at the wedding. You somehow managed to make the dreary weather look like the perfect sunny day
I love the photos! I work at the reception hall they had the wedding reception at and when i was working and saw them taking pictures i was so happy to see the malibu blue! A member of the wedding party was a teacher at my school and a main guest was a teacher at my elementary school- but my wedding color is also malibu blue and i love the color! this wedding/reception and pictures look beautiful! congrats!
I love your work and working with you. Thanks so much for capturing every moment of that perfect day. Even if the weather was far from perfect.
